ALPACA POWER - Home of the Chalford Herd
The business was started with a small herd of female alpacas. In collaboration with the UK's top breeders, and using only the best genetics, we have built a much larger herd of quality breeding stock. This selective breeding will ensure the continued improvement of our alpacas. Our aim is to achieve a herd of the highest quality in both conformation and fleece characteristics, and our prize winning and Champion animals are proof of this.
With the growth in our herd, the search began for larger premises, resulting in the purchase of our new farm in South Gloucestershire. We now have the ideal premises on which to develop our herd further and assist our clients with a greater range of services.
Alpaca Power has the knowledge base to help you achieve your goal whether it be joining the national breeding programme or owning these unique animals as pets.
  
Alpaca Power is owned and managed by an experienced, Qualified Veterinary Nurse. As such, she has a wealth of knowledge of animal husbandry and can give valuable advice on how to look after and get the best from your alpacas.
We select stud males of the highest quality from around the world for use in our progressive breeding program; ensuring our clients have access to top genetics.
We handle and train our animals using kind and respectful methods, resulting in calm, unstressed and easy to manage stock.
We also support both local and national fibre initiatives in order to promote and market this exclusive product.
All our alpacas are of the huacaya breed and, while we stock most colours, we are rapidly establishing a line of high quality solid black animals. As part of this drive for excellence, Alpaca Power owns a share in an outstanding, prize winning, black male from Australia, Wessex Mambo. Our blacks are doing very well in the show ring and this year Alpaca Power won the British Alpaca Futurity 2008 Small Breeder's award!

LOCATION
Alpaca Power is based in South Gloucestershire, just North of Bristol. We are 15 minutes from the M4, M5, M32 motorways and are within easy reach of Avon, Somerset, Wiltshire, Worcestershire and South Wales.
The farm is custom built and provides excellent facilities for the management of our herd. Our clients and visitors always receive a very warm welcome and there is ample parking and plenty of space for trailers. Courses, Workshops and Sale Days can be held undercover in our barns when the weather conspires against us.
