Alpaca Blog

We have received some wonderful alpaca news from France! Chalford Promise has produced a gorgeous black female cria for her new owners, Peggy and Helene. The birth was straightforward and both mother and cria are doing well.

Promise along with Chalford Chloe were exported to France in March 2013. Peggy was tempted to visit us in the UK after seeing Chalford Chloe on our website. Chloe is a superb black female by Grand River Holyfield, our resident alpha male! Peggy stayed with us on the farm for a couple of days and spent hours looking at our herd. Our handling system allows for relaxed, close up viewing. After seeing every black alpaca up close, Chloe was selected along with Chalford Promise. We were not too keen so these two go but knew they would have the very best of homes.

Promise was bred to Dreamcoat Velocity, one of our true black herd sires. Velocity offers a unique combination of North American  black genetics. This lovely black cria has been produced from top quality black bloodlines from both South and North America. She has a very dense, bright fleece like her parents and will make an excellent edition to the family. We wish Peggy and Helene every success with their black herd.

Congratulations!
